Dr. Daniel Sosa is the current medical director of Boca Palms Animal Hospital. He was born in White Plains, New York, and he lived part of his early life in Argentina, where he developed his passion for working with animals. Once back in the US, he trained dogs professionally and for pleasure for many years.
Dr. Sosa graduated with a Bachelor in Science in Veterinary Technology from Mercy College, Dobbs Ferry, New York in 1998. As a licensed veterinary technician he worked at the Animal Medical Center in New York City, Cornell University Small Animal Hospital and Tompkins Country SPCA in Ithaca, New York, as well as other animal hospitals.
Dr. Sosa graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University, Ithaca, New York in 2003. After graduation, he fled the cold New England winters and moved to West Palm Beach, FL, where he worked as an emergency medicine and critical care clinician at Palm Beach Vet Specialists for nine years. Dr. Sosa then worked at Boca Greens Animal Hospital, where he was also medical director. After this experience, he decided to become a small business owner and acquired Jaffe Animal Clinic, which was renamed Boca Palms Animal Hospital.
Major contributors to Dr. Sosa’s medical skills include his emergency and critical care medicine experience and close association with various specialists in the profession. In addition, Dr. Sosa has a special interest in internal medicine, behavior and exotic animal medicine. The practice of general medicine has allowed Dr. Sosa to develop ongoing, strong relationships with pets and their owners thereby augmenting the quality of medicine. Dr. Sosa’s philosophy includes promoting preventive medicine, extensively researching medical cases, providing compassionate care, and promoting client education.
Dr. Sosa is a strong advocate for wildlife conservation and the environment. In his free time, he spends time with his lovely wife Beth, his son Elliott, his dog Attila, his cat Tuco, as well as a myriad of different critters. He also enjoys staying active by jogging, bicycling, and hiking, as well as reading and traveling to exotic places in the forgotten corners of the world.
